W Magazine: March 2012

A summery spread for a summery day. I love the colours, love the collars, and love the hair!

Today I am Coveting: Swedish Hasbeens

                                                                   £183 (approx*)

All it takes is two days of vague sunshine and I start dreaming about summer shoes. My obsession with Swedish Hasbeens started last year, when the H&M collaboration meant I (then still a student) could afford a pair for the first time. Now I am a working girl, I can finally extend myself the luxury of splashing out on the whole Swedish hog (sort of speak). These will be my go to summer shoes. Ideally one day I’ll own them in very colour available.

Would You? Wet-Look Hair

I hopped out of the shower this morning sporting one of spring/summer’s biggest beauty trends. Catching a glimpse of myself in the mirror I thought yeah, this looks quite good! Perhaps I shalln’t dry my hair today, and leave the house with my locks thrown into an ‘effortlessly chic’, Chanel-inspired soaking wet chignon. However, before I left the bathroom reality checked in, I’m not some off duty model sauntering through Paris Vuitton in hand, nor am I a lost citizen of Alantis wondering through south London. Really, I can’t imagine ever being able to pull off wet-look hair – unless I was in Port Aventura stumbling back from the pool.

I’d like to think of myself as a fashion forward gal, and certainly never one to shy away from the more audicious trends yet, I couldn’t brave it today. What I want to know is would you?…Have you? And, how would you wear it?

Style Crush: Miss Alexa Chung

No matter how you feel about Alexa Chung the person, she is undoubtedly a modern fashion icon. The epitome of London style, champion of the city’s most up and coming designers, and twice awarded Bristish style icon at the British fashion awards. And, her influencential pressence in the fashion world is about to get a lot bigger as on friday the British Fashion Council annouced Alex Chung their BFC young style ambassador. I think they’ve made a pretty good choice with old Alexa. I like the image of London fashion she promotes, and her style mantra, ‘women should always dress for themselves’ Amen!
